Acts 6:8

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.  (KJV)

4735 stephanos, from an apparently primary stepho (to twine or wreathe); a chaplet (as a badge of royalty, a prize in the public games or a symbol of honor generally; but more     conspicuous and elaborate than the simple fillet, 1238), literally or figuratively:------crown.

prophetic (1828 Dict. Def.): Containing prophecy

prophecy (ibid.) A foretelling; prediction; declaration of something to come. The prophecies recorded in the Scriptures, when fulfilled, afford most convincing evidence of the divine origin of the Scriptures, as those who uttered the prophecies could not have foreknown the events predicted without supernatural instruction. 

NOTE:  These “wonders” are signs of prophecies fulfilled. What prophecies?

Thus the rainbow is a token of God’s covenant with Noah.  The blood of the paschal lamb, sprinkled on the doors of the Hebrews, was a token to the destroying angel of God’s will that he should pass those houses.
